Blackberry 9000 bold

Blackberry 9000 Bold Originally released in May 2008, offers a wide array of technology synonymous with the Blackberry brand. The recently released white version of the same handset adds to the appeal for users who view their phones as a fashion accessory as well as a functional handset.

Blackberry 9000 Bold White measures 114x66x14mm and weighs in at 133g. The weight of the handset leaves users with no doubts about the built quality. The 2.6 inch screen is capable of displaying up to 65,000 colours at 480x320 pixels ensuring bright, vibrant on screen images. A full QWERTY keyboard, typical of many Blackberry models, allows efficient text input. Also, Blackberry's well known trackball navigation system offers an interactive method of navigating on screen options and menus.

Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages by vibration and ringing with the option to utilize MP3 music files as ringtones. A speakerphone is included allowing hands free communication. A 3.5mm audio jack accommodates hands free headsets as well as headphones for listening to music.

Internal storage is in the form of 1 GB with 128 MB RAM, however this can be increased up to 8 GB by using the built in microSD slot, allowing plenty of storage for media files and other data.

Blackberry 9000 Bold White offers a range of connectivity features so users stay connected on the move. The primary means of network connection is via class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE. Connection to 3G networks is through HSDPA at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. On top of this, Wi-Fi connectivity takes advantage of local wireless internet routers for a faster internet connection. Bluetooth version 2.0 is installed as standard which allows users to share files and data with other Bluetooth compatible devices in the same vicinity. GPS with A-GPS support finishes off the impressive connectivity package.

Blackberry 9000 Bold White is equipped with a digital camera boasting 2MP which takes reasonably high quality photos. The camera operates at a pixel resolution of 1600x1200 and includes an LED flash for taking pictures in low lighting conditions. As an alternative to taking still images, it can also record video.

Blackberry 9000 Bold also features a versatile media player which plays media files in a range of music and video file formats. Media files can easily be transferred to and from a computer via a miniUSB (V2.0) connection. Adding to the entertainment options of
Blackberry 9000 Bold White, a range of games is included with the option to download extra ones if required. Other useful features include a document editor which is compatible with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents, an organizer and voice memo recorder.

Whilst the styling of the handset is aimed more at functionality and ease of use, the release of a White Blackberry 9000 Bold is sure to appeal to those who want something different from the brand.
